Company asked to deal with deceased

MATARAM, West Nusa Tenggara: Labor supply company PT Amestara Raya Corp should act responsibly in relation to the recent death of 27-year-old Saparuddin in Malaysia, said a local official.

Purnomo Rahardjo, an official at the local manpower and transmigration ministry office, said Amestara, which supplied Saparuddin, should assume moral and financial responsibility for the matter, including transporting the victim's body to West Lombok and the cost of the funeral.

"Amestara should liaise with its partner supply company in Malaysia and the victim's former employer to process the insurance claim in the name of the victim and bring the victim's body home," he said.

Saparuddin, a resident of Sokong Village in West Lombok, died as a result of an occupational accident at a construction project. His body is at present in the morgue in a hospital in Kuala Lumpur. --Antara
