Commission I asked to give input

JAKARTA: The House of Representatives Commission II on legal and domestic affairs has requested input from colleagues from Commission I on political and international affairs regarding the bill on immigration the former is deliberating.

"We have sent a copy of the immigration bill to Commission I and we expect input," the Commission II chairman Teras Narang said on Wednesday.

He was responding to criticism from the Commission I members who questioned a clause in the bill that requires the establishment of an immigration office in all Indonesian embassies.

Teras said the input would be needed to improve the bill's contents. - JP
