Commission agrees on work week
JAKARTA: The Constitutional Commission decided on Wednesday to
spend only three days a week, from Monday through Wednesday, to
discuss how to make the newly amended Constitution congruous.
Commission members will gather input from the public on
Thursday and Friday and have two days off on Saturday and Sunday.
"Every Thursday and Friday we will personally collect input
and study the debates among MPR members when they deliberated
amendments to the Constitution," said commission chairman Sri
Soemantri, referring to the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR).
According to Soemantri, the commission will produce academic
assessments on the amended Constitution and recommend revisions
at the end of its work.
In order to help the commission, the public is invited to
submit input. The public can send input directly to the
secretariat of the Constitutional Commission at the MPR building
or send via e-mail: suparti@mpr.go.id. -- JP
