Commercializing seminar

From Kompas

As an entrepreneur, I am often invited to attend seminars organized by government bodies. Some government officials are usually present at the seminars to give explanations about the government policies on tax, trade, industry, etc.

The invitee must pay for the invitation, which involves hundreds of thousands of rupiah. But I think that if the seminar is used as a forum to explain government policies, it would be better for the government to distribute free invitations to related organizations such as the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) or to individuals interested in attending the seminar to hold a discussion with the authority.

I believe it is the government's responsibility to keep the society informed of the government regulations. The businessmen will eventually cooperate and support the government's policies.

It is my hope that the government's policies are not being commercialized. The Ministry of Information has the responsibility to impart information concerning government's regulations. I wish that the practice of sending paid invitations would be stopped.
