Coconut plant in Bitung

JAKARTA (JP): PT Jaka Saktibuana of Indonesia and a private company from the Philippines have set up a desiccated-coconut plant in Bitung, North Sulawesi, with an investment of US$5.8 million.

The plant was officially opened on Monday by North Sulawesi Governor E.E. Mangindaan, who noted that the new facility was developed under the East ASEAN Growth Area regional cooperation, involving Indonesia, the Philippines. Malaysia and Brunei.

According to the Antara news agency, the Philippine shareholder in the plant is Senator Juan Ponce Enrille and the Indonesian partner is controlled by Soedibyo Rahardjo. (13)
