Cockroach at Tamani Cafe

On Sept. 18, my husband and I lunched at the Tamani Cafe (a new building) in Kemang, South Jakarta. We were the first guests of the afternoon and after a long wait they served us our food.

As we were about to begin eating, we saw something struggling out of the sauce on a plate -- it was a live cockroach. In disbelief and wanting to make sure of what we were seeing, we both took off our glasses. There was no doubt, it was a live cockroach.

So we called the manager. There was no serious response from the cafe management, as if nothing serious had happened. They arrogantly brushed aside the matter, as if it was a trifle that their luxurious and international restaurant could not be bothered with.

Prompt attention to such an incident by the relevant agencies may help reduce the health risks to the general public.
