Club to hold walk up tower's stairs

JAKARTA: A fitness center is planning to hold a foot race up the stairs to the top of the 37-story Menara Imperium building in Kuningan, South Jakarta, to commemorate the Independence Day celebrations in the city.

The competition, which is being organized by the Quantum Athletic Club, will be held on Aug. 30, Antara reported on Tuesday.

The Semarang-based Indonesian Museum of Records (MURI) plans to give a certificate to the organizers as this will be the first time such an event has been conducted in the country.

The museum also plans to issue a certificate for a palm tree climbing competition in Ancol, North Jakarta. -JP
