Club formed to help dropouts

JAKARTA (JP): The Jakarta operational team for the Family Welfare Movement, locally known as the PKK, in cooperation with Yayasan Model Muda, has formed a club which, since Sept. 1, has regularly held various activities for dropout youths.

One of the activities of the club is a program called "Youngsters Dialog", in which dropout youths are encouraged to express their views on various subjects through an open dialog.

"The main objective of this program is to help the dropout youths develop their potential. This is instrumental in helping them form their own personalities and helps them to become independent individuals," said Siti Sarah Humaira, one of the executives in charge of the program.

She said the program began on Sept. 19 and will end on March 19 next year. The program's activities are being held weekly. (bas)
