Civilian guard stabbed 13 times

JAKARTA (JP): A 29-year-old civilian guard at Anyar market in Tangerang mayoralty was found dead with 13 stab wounds in several parts of his body on Sunday morning by traders at the market complex.

According to several vegetable traders, the body of Amran, still in his light green security guard uniform, was spotted at 4:30 a.m., about the same time merchants started their business at the market on Sunday.

Some said they saw Amran watching the market complex at 11 p.m. on Saturday.

After finding the bloody body, the traders loaded it onto an open truck and rushed it to the Tangerang General Hospital.

Tangerang Police chief Lt. Col. Pudji Hartanto said they are still trying to find out the alleged role of four young men, who are believed to be connected in the brutal killing of the resident of Buaran Indah area at Tanah Tinggi.

"We still need more witnesses," the officer said but gave no further details about the four suspects.

Relatives also refused to talk about the killing.

"Ask the police as the case is in their hands," one of them. (41/bsr)
