Civil servants to sign contract

BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: State Minister for
Administrative Reform Taufik Effendi said he was preparing
performance contract for each civil servant and government
official to sign.

"The contract serves as a measure to control the way the state
apparatus carries out its jobs and responsibilities," Taufik said
on his visit here on Tuesday.

The contract would require all civil servants and government
officials to fight corruption, collusion and nepotism and improve
their services for the public, he said.

There are about five million civil servants, with half of that
