City to hold float parade

JAKARTA (JP): Anyone interested in joining a parade of floats can register at City Hall until July 15.

Chairman of the parade's committee, Prawoto S. Danoemihardjo, said the parade was part of the commemoration of Jakarta's 470th anniversary.

"The parade will be held Aug. 24," Prawoto, who is also city assistant secretary on economic and development affairs, said.

Those interested can register at the committee's secretariat at City Hall, 11 floor, Jl. Merdeka Selatan, Central Jakarta. Phone numbers are 3822816, 3822017 and 3813774. (ste)
