City reshuffles top police officers

JAKARTA: City Police chief Insp. Gen. Makbul Padmanagara appointed on Tuesday several police officers to head up some key posts in the city.

Sr. Comr. Mathius Salempang, who was previously the chief at the North Sulawesi Police Operation and Control Division, replaced Sr. Comr. Andi Chaeruddin as the National Police detectives chief.

Sr. Comr. Herry Prastowo, who was Tangerang Police chief, was selected for the West Jakarta Police chief post, replacing Sr. Comr. Bambang Wasgito, who was promoted to a post in the National Police Detective Division.

Tangerang now will be run by Adj. Sr. Comr. Ketut Untung Yoga Ana.

Outgoing South Jakarta Police chief Sr. Comr. Abdul Rahman now heads the City Police Intelligence and Security Division. His post was taken by Adj. Sr. Comr. Gufron, a former deputy chief of the City Police Traffic Division. -- JP
