City news website launched

JAKARTA (JP): After operating for a couple of months, the city
administration officially launched on Wednesday its news website
BeritaJakarta.com.

City Governor Sutiyoso inaugurated the website at the City
Hall and said that the city administration would use the website
to obtain feedback from the public.

"We expect some criticism from the public through their
participation in the poll or letters posted on the website"
Sutiyoso remarked.

The website features current news of the city hall, letters
from the public, the city administration's policies and decrees.
It also features some features articles on various topics.

City spokesman Muhayat said that the website was initiated and
managed by a group of young people grouped in the Klub Sejuta
(Million Club), operated by a former city governor.

"We just provide the news and financial support for the
website, they manage it independently," Muhayat said without
mentioning the former governor's name. (jun)
