City gets new subprecinct buildings

JAKARTA: Jakarta Police chief Insp. Gen. Makbul Padmanagara
officiated on Monday three new buildings for the Cipayung Police
subprecinct in East Jakarta, Ciledug subprecinct in South Jakarta
and Cimanggis subprecinct in Depok, West Java.

The ceremony was held at the Cipayung subprecinct, which
stands on land granted by Harapan Kita Foundation, which is owned
by the family of former first lady, the late Tien Soeharto.

Besides the foundation, Makbul also thanked five private
companies for their contribution to the development of the
subprecinct buildings as well as the development of the main
building of a police school in Lido, Sukabumi, West Java, and the
Police Mobile Brigade headquarters in Cipinang, East Jakarta.

"The development of the infrastructure is our attempt to meet
public demand for better services," said Makbul in his speech.

He added the fund for the construction was derived from last
year's state budget. -- JP
