City councillors going to shape up

JAKARTA: The city administration plans to renovate the City
Council building on Jl. Kebon Sirih in Central Jakarta. When the
renovation is complete, the building will be equipped with a
fitness center and health center for the councillors and high-
ranking city officials.

The council's secretary, Ismet Hasan, said the renovation work
would cost Rp 30 billion.

The money will come from the revised 2005 city budget, Ismet
was quoted as saying by Warta Kota.

According to Ismet, the planned work has been approved by the
council's leaders. The plan soon will be submitted to Jakarta
Governor Sutiyoso for approval. --JP.
