City check-in recommended
JAKARTA (JP): National flag carrier Garuda Indonesia and its affiliated airline company Merpati Nusantara have suggested passengers use their city check-in facilities in anticipation of traffic congestion resulting from the construction of a flyover on Prof. Sedyatmo toll road that leads to Soekarno-Hatta airport.
The project will cause bottlenecks that are likely to slow down traffic both to and from the airport.
Using the city check-in facilities are recommended as flight passengers may arrive late to check in due to traffic disruption.
The project will only be completed in July.
Garuda has opened all its eight check-in offices across the capital 24 hours a day, while Merpati provides the same facility at Gambir railway station.
Check-in for overseas flights must be made one hour before take-off at the latest and 30 minutes prior to take-off at the latest for domestic flights.
