Cisarua police chief dismissed

BOGOR: Head of the Cisarua police subprecinct First Insp. Napoleon and his deputy Second Insp. Ali Yusak were dismissed from their posts following the escape of eight detainees, a police source said on Monday.

The detainees escaped after breaking through the roof of their cell at the police office at around 11 p.m. on Friday, but it was not until 3 a.m. on Saturday that the police knew about the escape, according to the source, who refused to be named.

Napoleon was replaced by First. Insp. Ahmad Sobari, who was the head of the Jonggol police subprecinct.

Bogor police chief, Adj.Snr.Comr. Makmun Saleh said that police were still hunting for the eight escapees, but he refused to comment further.--JP
