Cipta Jaya wins land in high court

JAKARTA: The High State Administrative Court in Medan, North
Sumatra, has overruled an earlier ruling by a lower court and
declared PT Cipta Jaya Raya the rightful owner of the Right of
Land Exploitation No.2/1994 for 1,300 hectares of land in Labuhan
Batu.

The team of judges, chaired by Mrs. Emin Aminah Achadiat and
including Benjamin Mangkoedilaga and Sofyan Abbas, accepted the
appeal filed by PT Cipta Jaya against the decision made in June
by the State Administrative Court.

The verdict, a copy of which was made available to The
Jakarta Post yesterday, annulled the earlier decision by the
lower court in Medan which granted the land title to PT Indo
Sepadan Jaya.

Earlier in August, the Rantau Prapat district court in N.
Sumatra had also accepted PT Cipta Jaya's civil law suit against
PT Indo Sepadan regarding the same land title. (vin)
