Cipondoh drugmaker to be tried

The suspect in a large-scale drug making case in Cipondoh and Karawaci, Tangerang was handed over to the Tangerang Prosecutor's Office by a team of investigators from the National Police drug directorate on Friday.

Sr. Comr. Ari Subowo, who led the team said that the police had completed the case files involving Ang Kim Sui, who holds an identity card issued in Fak Fak, Irian Jaya, as the suspect.

The investigators also handed over evidence, which comprised of documents, more than Rp 2 billion in cash, two mobile phones and a house used by the suspect to produce the drugs.

The police arrested the suspect at Hotel Borobudur in Central Jakarta on April 6 after a two-year hunt.

The police confiscated from the suspect US$200,000, Singapore $4,200, Hong Kong $5,670, 10,500 Yuan and Rp 200 million.

Two days after the suspect was arrested, the police searched a house used to produce drugs on Jl. Hasyim Ashari, Cipondoh, Tangerang. From the house, the police also seized thousands of ecstasy pills and raw materials that were later burned along with other evidence in Serpong on June 26.

Four prosecutors have been appointed. They are Roskanedi, Martha, Ferry Silalahi and Joko. --JP
