Cikarang Baru market project

BEKASI (JP): Bekasi Regent Moch. Djamhari is still refusing to officially open the Cikarang Baru market in the Bekasi Regency because the developer has not yet completed the construction of the market.

PT Metrik El Cipta, the developer of the Rp 30.9 billion (US$14.04 million) market, is one year behind the schedule set out in the contract. The project should have been finished in June last year.

PT Metrik El Cipta's Prawoto said that his company was still finishing the construction of several sections, such as a park and roads, and guaranteed that the work would be completed as soon as possible.

Some kiosk owners are already operating in the market and people have started to shop there. Shop owners are, however, complaining about security at the market because their kiosks are easily burgled. (12/yns)
