Cigarettes worth Rp 50m stolen
JAKARTA (JP): Thieves stole cartons of cigarettes worth Rp 50 million (US$21,459) yesterday from a shop on Jl. K.H.M. Mansyur, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta.
A Central Jakarta Police precinct officer said the shop's employee, Asep, arrived at work in the morning and found the shop's door open and the cigarettes missing.
"The thieves entered the shop by breaking the lock," the officer said.
He said the thieves probably used a car to transport the stolen goods.
He said the shop belonged to Suwardi, an official at the Attorney General's office. (jun)
