CIFOR researcher honored

JAKARTA (JP): Dr. Jerry Vanclay, a researcher at the Bogor, West Java, Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) has been given the Queens Award for Forestry by the Commonwealth Forestry Conference.

Vanclay, an Australian, accepted the award at the 15th Commonwealth Forestry Conference in Zimbabwe yesterday from the Commonwealth's secretary-general Chief Anayoku.

He is the second CIFOR scientist honored with the award after fellow Australian John Turnball in 1988.

The award is open to all British Commonwealth mid-career citizens who have made an outstanding achievement in forestry. (pwn)
