Church prays for successful meeting
The Communion of Churches in Indonesia (PGI), on behalf of all churches in the country, said yesterday that it is praying for the APEC leaders gathering in Indonesia to discuss the future of the region, home to over half of the world's population.
"We welcome the APEC conference with a prayer that the leaders in the Asia-Pacific region are given strength, health and wisdom to include the interests of mankind in this region in their considerations and decisions," the PGI's executive board announced.
The board hopes that the conference can contribute to the establishment of a world economic order that is more just, which in turn could lead to greater peace, the organization said. (emb)
