Chrysler and BMW fire up engine plant
DETROIT: The Chrysler Corp and BMW AG are building their new $US500 million joint-venture engine plant in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The newly designed 1.4-liter and 1.6-liter engines will power future small cars from Chrysler and the Rover group.
The plant will be able to produce 400,000 engines a year and will employ 1,200 people.
