Christmas spirit at City Hall

JAKARTA (JP): The City Administration has celebrated Christmas at City Hall for its Christian employees.

The event was attended Saturday by thousands of employees from the city's five mayoralties.

In his speech, Governor Sutiyoso appealed to Jakartans to help retain the good thoughts of their respective religions and create a conducive atmosphere in the capital.

The governor said that people should be always alert and mindful of the current situation, where there are groups of people who want to take advantage by expressing irresponsible issues and gossiping.

Solidarity for the less fortune was also expected from the tight unity of the religious, who could maintain good relations among them, he said, delivering a cheerful Merry Christmas to his Christian staff. (04)
