Choir organization

To maintain a choir is not an easy thing. Especially to make it become a commodity which can perform in public for a long time. It needs great commitment, spirit, hard work, patience and love and integrity among its members to mature and achieve good quality.

The Parahyangan Choir Group has all these qualities. In their ninth concert which was held on the Sept. 16 and Sept. 17, 1995, at Erasmus Huis, Jakarta, whatever music they sang, they could perform it in a very beautiful way. Harmony, dynamism and improvisation were able to create intense communication between the choir members, and produce a very sweet musical expression that could be enjoyed even by an ordinary audience.

Maybe it's time for us to have a forum among choir groups which can provide information regarding activities and development of choirs in Indonesia and overseas, and also provide an opportunity for choir lovers and fans to exchange ideas and information.

In my opinion, choirs have already found ground in this country. This is evident because almost every university has its own choir. Also, friendship among choir members is heartening to see. To establish a nationwide choir organization has a point. Any comment on this issue is welcome.
