Chinese martial art films

A lot of criticism has been directed at the too-frequent showing of Chinese martial art films by the private television stations, especially during prime times.

I am not airing my likes and dislikes because matters of taste cannot be disputed. De gustibus non est disputandum. Nor do I have the slightest intention of contesting the validity of the SRI ratings.

What I am wondering is whether those kinds of films are really liked by the majority of television viewers, or is it merely because the audience does not have much choice in the matter and, consequently, accepts the programs as they are.

A more serious study should be conducted by the powers that be, lest the glut simply becomes too much.
