Chinese Festival
University of Indonesia hosted the fifth Festival of Chinese Culture, an annual event organized by the Association of Sinology Students at the university's School of Cultural Affairs.
Initiated in 2000, the festival has a different theme each year. "Chinese Arts" was the theme for this year's celebration.
The April 27 through April 29 festival featured, among other things, barongsai (dragon dance), a traditional Chinese music ensemble, a tai chi demonstration, a seminar on face reading, spiritual consultations, a discussion on traditional Chinese healing and the reading of Chinese fables.
A number of Chinese organizations and experts also took part in the festival. -- Texts and Photos by P.J. Leo.
