Children burnt to death

JAKARTA (JP): Ten people, including five young girls and a
baby, burned to death after fire razed a shop on Friday night, a
press report said.

The shop owner, Ng Kie Ong, together with his wife, Li Lie,
were in Pekanbaru, Riau, when the fire destroyed the building,
the Kompas daily reported.

An eyewitness said the neighbors could not immediately help
rescue the occupants of the building because the doors were
locked.

Police have yet to determine the cause of the fire. They
speculate that the fire was sparked by an electrical short
circuit.(02)
