Children attend leadership workshop
JAKARTA: About 50 children from across the country have been selected to attend the Children's Conference 2004 here, which began on Wednesday and will run through to Saturday.
"During the four-day meeting, the children will learn how to communicate and adapt to each other, cooperate, and speak before the public," education expert Henny Supolo Sitepu, who is among the children's mentors, said on Wednesday.
Organizers have selected a topic of discussion "If I were Mr. President" for the children, who are aged between 10 and 11 years old.
Henny said the children were selected from around 500 school children who sent short stories describing their experience in leading their friends.
Sponsored by children's magazine Bobo, the conference will issue the Children Declaration 2004. --JP
