Cheap goods to stabilize prices

PEKANBARU, Riau: Riau provincial administration plans to sell cheap basic food to several markets here ahead of the Idul Fitri holiday, which marks the end of Ramadhan.

Emrizal Pakis, the head of the administration's Industry and Trade Office, said on Monday that the operation was aimed at stabilizing prices, which tend to soar ahead of Idul Fitri. Among basic necessities to be sold are palm oil, sugar and wheat flour. -- JP
