Charity tournament raises Rp 84m

JAKARTA (JP): A charity golf tournament jointly organized by international air express company DHL Worldwide Express and Planet Hollywood Jakarta raised Rp 84.325 million on Thursday.

The money from the First Annual Charity Golf Tournament was raised through the auction of prizes offered by the two companies as well as other sponsors.

The proceeds will go to the Mata Hati Foundation in aid of leukemia patients between the ages of one and 20 years old.

Around 150 golfers took part in the tournament held at Rancamaya Golf and Country Club.

Planet Hollywood general manager Andy Ryan had earlier said he hoped to raise Rp 66 million from the event.
