Charity program for street kids

JAKARTA (JP): The Body Shop (Indonesia) in cooperation with
social organizations MMK and RESCUE, is running a charity program
for street children.

The program is named Langitku Rumahku (My Sky My Home), after
a film directed by Slamet Rahardjo.

MMK stands for Mitra Masyarakat Kota (Urban Peoples' Friends),
while RESCUE stands for Reaching Street Children in an Urban
Environment in Indonesia.

A Body Shop spokesperson, Pinky, said in a release yesterday
that all The Body Shop outlets were providing knitting bags and
greeting cards made by street children.

"A visitor who donates Rp 2,000 will get one card," Pinky
said. The program will be held throughout Indonesia from Jan. 27
to March 23. (sur)
