Change in traffic flow in Benhil

Traffic flow on Jl. Bendungan Hilir (Benhil), Central Jakarta,
will experience changes for three months because of the
installation of a sewer system, an official said yesterday.

Soesila Darmoadji, spokesman for City Hall, said the new
sewarage pipe network will be installed in front of the Bendungan
Hilir marketplace near the junction of Jl. Sudirman and Jl.
Bendungan Hilir.

No vehicles, except motorcycles, are permitted to turn left
from Jl. Sudirman onto Jl. Bendungan Hilir during the project's
installation phase.

While work is in progress, traffic flow on Jl. Bendungan Hilir
will be designed one way from west to east.

Motorists from Jl. Sudirman can go to Jl. Bendungan Hilir via
Jl. K.H. Mas Mansyur and then go to Jl. Karet Pasar Baru, Jl.
Penjernihan or via Jl. Gatot Subroto and then Jl. Gerbang Pemuda,
Jl. Bendungan Jatiluhur, Jl. Bendungan Hilir 15, Jl. Taman
Bendungan Jatiluhur, and Jl. Bendungan Hilir 4.

Soesila said the traffic rerouting will last from June 30
through Sept. 29. (jsk)
