Certificate for CN235-220

JAKARTA (JP): State aircraft manufacturer PT Industri Pesawat Terbang Nusantara (IPTN) has received the airworthiness certificate from the Indonesian Military Airworthiness Authority (IMAA) for its CN235-220 military aircraft.

The IMAA agency is linked to the Ministry of Defense and Security.

The company said in a statement on Thursday that the certificate was awarded by IMAA's senior official, Brig. Gen. Soemarno, to IPTN director Hari Laksono, on Thursday at IPTN's headquarters in Bandung, West Java.

Hari said that the certificate amounted to an acknowledgement of IPTN's ability to produce the military version of the CN235- 220 aircraft.

He said that the company had also received an airworthiness certificate from the Minister of Transportation on Nov. 9 of this year for the passenger version of the CN235-220 aircraft. (jsk)
