Centris pays dividend

JAKARTA (JP): Shareholders of publicly listed taxi operator PT
Centris Multipersada Pratama approved on Friday the management
proposal to distribute a dividend of Rp 6 (about one-tenth of a
U.S. cent) per share for the 1999 fiscal year.

The listed company booked a net profit of Rp 570 million in
1999, as compared to a net loss of Rp 10.4 billion the previous
year, despite a lower increase in its operating income.

The company said that revenues were up slightly by about five
percent to Rp 40.36 billion in 1999.

The company said the improvement in its financial performance
was partly resulted from a nearly 70 percent decline in the
company's spending during the year. (udi)
