Census taking in June

JAKARTA (JP): The city office of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) will conduct a month long census in June, an official said last week.

Chief of BPS' Jakarta office Jasa Bangun said the census, held once every 10 years, will collect data on gender classification, age, marital status, migratory status, religion, ethnicity/ citizenship, education, employment status and fertility.

The census will cover 2.5 million families with a total population of over 10 million people, including the homeless and expatriates. Excluded from the census are members of the diplomatic corps and their families. (09)
