CEN gets ISO 9002

JAKARTA (JP): Freight forwarding and courier service company PT Cardig Express Nusantara (CEN) announced on Wednesday it received ISO 9002 certification from PT Sucofindo.

CEN's president Djattie Soedradjat said the certification reflected the company's ability to meet the quality service standards set by the International Standardization Organization (ISO).

"With ISO certification, it will be easier for the company to compete in the global forwarding network," Djattie said in a news briefing.

CEN is a subsidiary of PT Cardig Air, which also handles warehousing and trucking activities, with 17 branch offices and a 10,000-square-meter-warehouse at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, East Jakarta.

Djattie said the company planned to develop a new business called Third Party Logistics to provide integrated logistic services for corporate customers, with technology and management support from United Parcel Service World Wide Logistic.

Djattie said that with a market share of about 5 percent at present, CEN estimated it would increase its sale revenues to Rp 58 billion (US$5.87 million) this year, an increase of about 30 percent from Rp 44.6 billion last year. (07)
