CD ROM dictionaries

We would like to respond to Mr. Adrianus Hiyung T's letter "Dictionaries" published Jan. 9 regarding the need for a CD ROM version of a standard Indonesian-English and English-Indonesian dictionary. We at PT Atlantis Programma Prima have a product which should fit Mr. Hiyung T's needs quite nicely.

Linguist is a windows resident program which can be activated within other applications such as Word or Word Perfect. The user can highlight a word within Word, copy it to the clipboard, activate Linguist, find the translation, and copy the translation back to Word.

Linguist can search up to six different dictionaries on CD ROM or the hard disk. It can search for a word extremely fast. It also provides a help system, menus and switch labels in either English or Indonesian, according to the user language selection.

We currently have an English-Indonesian dictionary and are working on the Indonesian-English dictionary. We would be willing to talk to PT Gramedia or other companies with rights to existing dictionaries about producing CD ROM versions that could work with our product.

We hope Mr. Hiyung T will very soon be able to quickly and easily find translations using our Linguist.
