CBS confusion

The media has recently devoted widespread coverage to matters pertaining to the currency board system (CBS).

In all humbleness, I appeal to the media to stop this exposure of the subject because the various opinions of economists and other experts tend to increasingly confuse the people, or leave them with only a partial understanding of the implications of the CBS. Even the more educated members of the public find it hard to grasp the implications thoroughly.

Any objective to open the minds of the people toward freedom of speech becomes irrelevant if opinions lead to confusion and half-baked notions. Our country has serious problems which need to be tackled first and foremost.

I trust that economists and other experts are not so naive to think that the public will understand the CBS through a one-page interview or explanation. If the people become confused and feel a growing uncertainty, they will take irrational actions. This will only worsen an already bad situation.

I hereby request the economists and scientists to convey their "expert" opinions directly to the government, which has the power to make decisions, and not the general public. Members of the public are not the right audience for the exposure of their expertise. They should not be saddled with the extra burden of the confusion surrounding the CBS, especially as they already find themselves in great trouble.

I still believe that the government is made up of those who take the public's interests to heart, and give priority to finding solutions to problems.
