Cat show held at TMII

JAKARTA: As many as 14 purebred cats from Jakarta, Bogor and Bandung are taking part in a cat show at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) in East Jakarta, in conjunction with the commemoration of the 57th anniversary of Indonesia's independence.

The grand jury will judge the felines on their general health, fur, beauty, body-shape and friskiness.

The champion will receive a trophy and Rp 1.5 million, the first runner-up will receive a trophy and Rp 500,000, and the second runner-up a trophy.

Ruthatik, the contest chairwoman, said the event would also highlight the care and treatment the cats' owners gave their pets.

A purebred cat is one whose lineage can be traced back at least four generations. --JP
