Cargo plane crash kills one

JAYAPURA, Irian Jaya: A C-160 Transall airplane belonging to
PT Manunggal Air Service, skidded off the runway as it made an
emergency landing at Sentani airport here on Friday afternoon,
killing one passenger.

The cargo airplane, carrying 14 passengers and two crew, had
just taken off for its flight to Wamena when it reported engine
trouble.

Pilot Azirwan failed to control the airplane as it landed and
it skidded off the runway ramming into a fence. (34/emf)
