Career best sets pace in Karachi

KARACHI (Agencies): Australia's Scott Laycock fired the lowest round of his professional career today to take a two-shot lead over South Africa's Nico Van Rensburg and Peter Fowler of Australia at the halfway mark of the Omega Tour's ABN-AMRO Pakistan Masters.

The 26-year-old Victorian followed his opening-round 68 with seven birdies and no bogeys for a record-equaling 65, and a two- day 11-under-par aggregate.

Joint overnight leader Van Rensburg, one of three players to card 67 in the first round, hit five birdies and a solitary bogey for a four under par 68, while former European Tour regular Fowler carded seven birdies and one bogey for a six under 66.
