Car catches fire in South Jakarta
JAKARTA: A sedan burst into flames several minutes after
leaving Jakarta Police Headquarters on Jl. Gatot Subroto in South
Jakarta on Monday.
No fatalities were reported in the incident, police said.
The driver of the vehicle, Joko, said he was about 15 meters
away from the headquarters when he saw smoke pouring out from
beneath the car. He exited the vehicle but was unable to put out
the flames.
Joko said he had gone to the police headquarters to renew the
car's documents.
Police suspect a short circuit in the car's system caused the
fire. -- JP
