Cahaya Hati donates library

TANGERANG: The Cahaya Hati Bangsa Foundation has donated a
library containing 700 books to fishermen and their families in
West Mauk village, Mauk district, Tangerang regency, the
library's manager Yaya Sunarya said on Wednesday.

"The books were donated by some publishers, including
Gramedia," Yaya, also the principal of Setia Bhakti state
elementary school, was quoted by Antara as saying.

He said the foundation had donated Rp 6.5 million to build the
five meter by five meter library building, which was equipped
with desks and long benches.

He said the library was not only for children and students,
but also for their parents as many of the books were about
fishing and sewing skills.

Meanwhile, foundation chairman Aziz Miraza said that the
foundation had set up a cooperative arrangement with a private
television station, a restaurant chain and a book publisher to
build 13 other libraries in deprived areas across the country.--JP
