Cabin crew recruitment

I refer to the July 30 letter Cabin crew recruitment and your reader's comments about a recruitment exercise conducted in Jakarta on May 1 and May 2.

The reader stated that Singapore Airlines was seeking to hire crew members between 18 and 25 years of age. We would like to point out that this is incorrect.

Our advertisements in the Indonesian media state that applicants should be single and aged from 20 to below 26 years. They should also be proficient in English and possess a senior high school certificate or its equivalent.

The above criteria are similar for all applicants who are not Singapore or Malaysia nationals. Applicants should be aged below 26 years and possess an O-level certificate or its equivalent.

We thank your reader for the comments, and wish to assure you and all your readers that all feedback is taken seriously.
