C. Sulawesi to get new governor

PALU, Central Sulawesi: Aminuddin Ponulele will be installed as the new governor of Central Sulawesi on Feb. 16 as scheduled, an official said.

City Hall spokesman Longky Djanggola said on Tuesday the installation of Aminuddin as governor and Rully Aziz Lamadjido as his deputy would go ahead as planned.

"As many as 900 invitations have already been sent out," he said.

Longky was responding to speculation that the ceremony would be delayed because the Ministry of Home Affairs and Regional Autonomy had not yet issued a decree on the installation of the two officials.

Aminuddin and Rully secured 34 of the 45 votes in the provincial legislature.

Aminuddin was formerly the speaker of the provincial legislative council, and Rully was the mayor of Palu. (24/sur)
