C. Java cyclists eye 5 golds in PON

SEMARANG (JP): Central Java cyclists were expected to win five golds in the 15th National Games (PON) in Surabaya, East Java, coach M. Arifin said on Monday.

"We are grooming 13 cyclists. The men's cyclists are Nurochman, Yoshua Sudargo, Adi Prabowo, Surono, Teguh EP, Pujiono, Febrianto, Edi Purnomo, Heru Walgito and Sulaeman and the women's side consists of Jewarsi, Sri Suharmi and Umi," he said.

The cyclists are now training in Surakarta and Jember in East Java.

"We send Sri and Umi to Jember to train there. We don't have an offroad arena for training," he said, adding that the two cyclists were offroad riders.

He said the toughest challenges would likely come from Jakarta, West Java and the hosts East Java.(har)
