C. Jakarta goes online with loan info

JAKARTA: The Central Jakarta administration has posted
information about the approval of soft loans in 19 of its 44
subdistrict offices.

"The online computerized system should be followed by other
municipal administrations as well as the Kepulauan Seribu
regency," head of the city's Community Empowerment Board, Edward
Rais, was quoted as saying by the city's official news portal
Beritajakarta.com on Wednesday.

The 19 subdistrict offices are: Gelora, Kemayoran, Karang
Anyar, Kebon Kelapa, Kartini, Menteng, Pasar Baru, Pegangsaan,
Petojo Selatan, Cempaka Putih Barat, Gunung Sahari Utara, Cempaka
Baru, Gunung Sahari, Harapan Mulya, Kebon Kosong, Senen, Cempaka
Putih Timur, Kebon Kacang and Bendungan Hilir.

In 2004, all subdistricts received Rp 750 million in
Subdistrict Community Empowerment Program funds to distribute as
soft loans to the community's small enterprises. -- JP
