C. Jakarta gets new military chief
JAKARTA (JP): Jakarta Military Commander Maj. Gen. Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin installed Lt. Col. Susiswo Widodo on Thursday as the new chief of the Central Jakarta military district.
He replaces Lt. Col. Moeldoko.
"Central Jakarta has a national and international dimension which we should pay attention to whenever we do our duty," Sjafrie said in the ceremony at the military district headquarters in Kemayoran.
He said he was confident Widodo could perform his duties as well as his predecessor.
Moeldoko, a 1981 graduate of the Armed Forces Academy, will be promoted as a personal assistant to Deputy Army Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Soegiono. (jun)
